The next few Fridays for me are so full of scheduled ‘stuff’ that I might not get to writing more for 3 weeks instead of my usual 2. For those of you who live and die by my blogging, please try to understand. Also, if you haven’t noticed, at the bottom of each post will be a link to the music video for the song featured. Just click on the artist’s name.
The BIG news in Kansas City these days is the hiring of Todd Haley as the next Head Coach of the Chiefs. As a newly born Chiefs fan, I’ve been on the edge of my seat waiting to see what “our” new GM, Scott Pioli was going to do. Who would get the job? Now that we have that answer, who will Coach Haley hire for his staff? Will Chan Gailey be retained as the
Offensive Coordinator? What players will stay/go/be drafted/be signed as free agents?

One caller on the radio this morning raised the question of the importance of coaching. Is it the Coaches or the players who deserve most of the credit for the success of a team? We’ve heard this question before, and I think it’s an interesting one. It’s interesting because in our society we like to know who to praise and who to blame and what percentage of praise/blame should be assigned to the parties involved. All I can say is why?
Slightly Obscure 80’s Lyric
Don’t wish it away
Don’t look at it like it’s forever
Between you and me I could honestly say
That things can only get better
And while I’m away
Dust out the demons inside
And it won’t be long before you and me run
To the place in our hearts where we hide

And I guess that’s why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with you
