Here’s a good problem to have: there are about 4 things I want to write about today, but most of the ideas are not fully formed yet. So rather than continue wrestling with my brain, I’m going with the Word of God. Here goes…
I am a Coach. I am an instructor. But Jesus is the ultimate Coach, the master instructor. Here are some Words He’s been laying on my heart lately:
“and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.” – Proverbs 2:3-5
“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” – Ephesians 6:11
“train yourselves to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things” – 1 Timothy 4:7-8
“Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: ‘Do not handle!’ ‘Do not taste!’ ‘Do not touch!’? These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” – Colossians 2:20-3:3
Slightly Obscure 80’s Lyric of the Week
I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone
